Potty
training seats help your young children during
that delicate stage in their life when mom and dad are coaxing
them from diapers to becoming a fully fledged toilet
user.

Potty training
seats like the training toilet seat, a travel potty
or a potty seat will all see your child through this difficult
but important stage in their development.
It maybe that your child expresses
his or her desire to use a big toilet like mommy and
daddy (and some youngsters will do this, I can assure you
newbie moms and dads) then why not try a potty training
toilet seat for your little toddler.
This will cut out the potty or
potty seat stage and can cut down the time taken to go
from diapers to toilet trained in a matter of days, and
yes, I do mean days. You may have heard stories from some
moms that their child took ages and ages to get it right.
It is like any lesson being taught to someone, there is a
right way and a wrong way to go about it.
Toddlers know exactly what they
want, and a soiled or a wet diaper to a child that is
aware, is no less uncomfortable than you or me having a
cold, wet pair of pants on. Look for the signs that they
are uncomfortable, ask them if they want to use mommy’s
toilet and the special toilet seat like a big boy or
girl, and the answer will almost always be a resounding
yes.
Once into the potty training
regime, it can, if you follow a few simple rules, be a
matter of days and not weeks for your child to be dry, at
least during the day.
Potty training should be treated as
a game, use positive psychology, children respond to play
and praise. Lots of praise and high fives when a
successful business appointment is kept, and maybe a
little treat afterwards. If they have an accident, tell
them not to worry, the difficult thing most children have
is knowing when they want to go before they want to
go.
Potty training your first child is
always a steep learning curve for all concerned, but if
you have second child, the chances are it will be a
breeze. There is a certain lady I know who has had eight
children, and for her, so she tells me, it was relatively
easy, so much so that her last child went from diaper
during the day, potty training period and completely dry
in a matter of four days.
For me it was a little longer, but
the experience was much the same.
Make it fun
and seem like a game, and the rewards will come to both of you
very quickly. The Jungle Potty
Chair
and the Safety 1st Comfy Cushy 3-in-1 Potty, both available
from Amazon make that task a lot easier. If you’d like to
consider something cheap and stylish then the
Boon Potty
Bench
at just $29 makes for an excellent buy.
Make potty
training fun, and don't get involved in the peer pressure that
makes you worry about your child's progress. You can be sure
they will be fully toilet trainined by the time they leave
home. So stop worrying and try out one of the great range of
potty training seats.
